The Birthday Boy.

Yesterday I have officially become 19 years old. The older generation believes that as long as your birthday ends with a 9, don’t celebrate it because it brings misfortune. Anyway I don’t really know if what I did is call celebrating.

Anyway I thank those who at least wish me a happy birthday on the day before, actual day or today. It’s something I personally hold in high regards. I will blog down every single person in here that who wish me a happy birthday, face to face, by phone or thru the net. So here goes, it’s by sequence and look at the time:

Yup so here’s all. This year there a few more new names appeared which is a good thing, anyway that’s all.

So here’s today.

Practically did nothing other than one assignment and the discussion of POM Project is carried out. As there’s a LOT of things does not even need to be included in. GEEZ ~_~. So beside of SCHOOL, went to vivo to have Superdog with Mr.Tan. LOL!

Buying a bag, can be a tedious issue for me and I so want to watch The Dark Knight again. >.<.

The Day Before.

Life was good today, ate so much nice stuff today. From octopus to flying pigeon LOL! The pigeon seems like chicken except its much much smaller, the meat is much softer. Of course nice good food must come with nice accompaniment.

Met that “Workaholic Jing” at JP at 2, and then went straight for Sushi at the basement. It’s new as in the basement. Opened since last week, everything there is Japanese food and it’s filled with people. 45 minutes is all she had. Workaholic as ever ~_~.

Ordered like several dishes, including bleh… look the pictures. I’m lazy to type out everything lol. We ate a total of 7 plates and two other main dishes. The octopus was delicious; overall it’s a splendid meal! Thanks for the birthday treat!



After that went Tiong Bahru with family and precious for dinner ordered numerous dishes. The crab this time round isn’t much of my expectation and the meat was stick to the shell. Bleh~ didn’t take any pictures for that dinner. Birthday is coming in few minutes time and….

Why So Serious?

After watching "The Dark Knight" eariler on, I’m here right now typing out this and so wanting to watch it again for the 2nd time. The Dark Knight truly won many critics review and set a new first week box office settling down to $USD 158 million.

Firstly, I’m as totally and completely mesmerized and captivated by Heath Ledger as the Joker in EVERY SCENE of the movie. The actor clearly completely loses himself in the role of The Joker. I’m struck by both fear and awe from the way he talks, moves and responds. (A few know I’m in fear of clowns but The Joker is something more, it’s something else…) He truly brings out the essences of a man without a care in the world for others as The Joker. It’s sad to know that the actor Heath Ledger is gone after watching the movie.

He brings The Joker out to the big screen as a diabolical and menacing character yet in the same time mesmerizing and charismatic. Without The Joker, the movie wouldn’t be complete as The Joker truly “complete” The Batman. Christopher Nolan the director truly did a great job in the relationship between The Joker and The Batman. Everytime Batman thinks that he has finally stopped The Joker; he throws out another ace out his sleeves.

Enough of The Joker, I truly think he deserve an award for the movie.

Next is Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent and Christian Bale as The Batman, both of them did a superb job comprising every other character. In a sudden twist, Harvey Dent became “You all know what” if you’re into Batman. Thumbs up to Aaron Eckhart for personifying “You all know what” to a much darker theme compared to its predecessors by Tommy Lee Jones. And of course being the emotional arc that the unsympathetic Joker couldn’t offer in the whole movie. Christian Bale done it again just likes Batman Begins but this time with a better looking suit.

The last scene of the movie managed to bring out my empathy while holding back the shed of tears that is going to run down and overall the movie is a much darker theme and BETTER in all aspect. It is a MUST-WATCH movie for this year.

*A person that is willing to risk everything out and be branded a traitor or a criminal willingly in attempt to protect others is entitled “Hero”.*

Just like Batman in the movie titled: The Dark Knight. *Criminal*

And The Boss in Metal Gear Soild 3 titled: The Patriot. *Traitor*

Other than the movie someone acted strangely, too strange that it incurred me to laugh like The Joker but not that menacing of course.

Will so be watching it again, anyone?

Psst...

Lately I’ve been eating like a lot! My appetite seems to be extremely active I suppose. A definite carrot cake is a must after dinner. Aside from eating, NS send me a letter calling me to go for a medical booking. I suppose a lot people got that letter, 4th August starts to defer and send me the letter like on 17 July. That’s like err… early notice?

Anyway left with like 10+ days to POM submission deadline. Members in my team please do your work ASAP! I still need to edit! Especially “Xiang Ge” <.<, don’t last minute please.

Red Cliff

After 8 months of eager anticipation and waiting, Red Cliff finally debuted on the big screen last Thursday. So like Friday went to catch the “EPIC” movie directed by John Woo and after 2 hours and 30 minutes of screen time, it’s utter disappointment for me.

There are so many letdowns on that movie. The casting seems weird, the screenplay seems crazy enough and there is XingBa, YunChang, Yide and Zilong all as mere tools for Zhou and Zhuge in killing.

There Zhang FengYi as Cao Cao which I felt that is extremely being miscast. He is a brilliant actor but still I couldn’t sense Cao’s deviousness and that Hero of Chaos aura coming out of the actor. In fact, I couldn’t even sense Guan Yu magnificent aura there as well. He is being reduced as a mere mortal perhaps to make it more real? His blade isn’t really fanciful as well compared to every source out there. The worst is Zhang Fei, which doesn’t even carry its trademark the Snake Headed Spear.

Of course there are cool fighting scenes for Guan Yu and the rescuing of Liu Chan by Zhao Yun but it isn’t much of that “Epic” either. The pivotal Zhu-ge and Zhou have been apocryphally depicted as rivals, but Woo's decision to follow history and turn them into potential soul mates weakens dramatic power. The movie also made Zhou Yu into a much better person compared to the novel which is petty and always doing small things to harm Zhuge.

What I can say is, the movie isn’t that bad nor is it that good. There is still cool strategic formation that is used in battles against Cao's 200,000 cavalry assault. The masterfully varied cinematography captures an astounding array of military pageantry, martial arts sequences and ancient weaponry that could be a part of that “EPIC” thing going on.

Bottom-line still goes its watch able but if you’re into Romance of the Three Kingdom, it will be a disappointing let down.

Yes, research is telling us what we already know: If a guy gets to know you before getting intimate, he is more likely to commit. It's ALWAYS better to know the guy for sometime then go into a relationship then not know the guy and go into a relationship. Observe your choices ladies!

5. He watches DVDs with you when you're sick
The most important thing is not that he take care of you when your sick. The most important thing is that the simple little thing he do with you when you are at your lowest.

6. He gets to know your friends and family
A guy who is thinking long-term wants to truly get to know you. Seeing you interact with your family and friends helps him learn where you come from and more about who you are. The flip side of it is that he will also want you to get to know him! He'll want to see if you fit in with his family and friends. A guy who keeps you separate from the important people in his life is just playing around.

7. He says, "we" instead of "me"

He will ask you for your opinion for decision making rather than not consult you. It is extremely crucical for a long relationship to last. It's the most basic form of respect.

Commitment-phobic guys always have an excuse about why they can't be with you on Saturday night, why they didn't call, and why they aren't ready for a relationship right now. A commitment-ready guy doesn't need excuses, he just needs you.

10. He likes being in a long-term relationship
He don't complain always being with you, think of you as a burden instead of a gift. Grumble all the times and always complaining he need his spaces then he is not ready to commit. On the other hand,if he's done with the party scene, enjoys your "couple time" together, and has a strong sense of family, you've found a commitment-ready guy.
